Rawai Beach Real Estate - Rawai holds the distinction of being the very first tourist beach in Phuket. Rawai Beach, at the south end of Phuket island, is not a swimming beach but offers beautiful views of the many nearby islands in a peaceful local atmosphere. Years ago, people from Phuket Town would drive the 17km to Rawai on weekends to while away the afternoon underneath the beach's casuarina trees rather than risk the (then) dangerous drive over the hill to Phuket's west coast.

Nowadays, Rawai Beach is a 'working beach' and a launching point for day boat excursions out to Phuket's surrounding islands. Many long-tail boats are available for hire and line its shores, where you can arrange a trip to Coral Island, Koh Lone, or Racha Island, or a fishing or snorkeling trip. The beach is also used as a mooring point for the many fishermen who live in the Rawai Beach real estate area.

Rawai has always been very popular with the many seafood restaurants all along the waterfront. The best way to enjoy this unique experience is to eat on mats placed on the floor as locals do, it’s fun and the food is often better than in tourist restaurants, and it’s a more memorable experience.

Rawai property for sale is mostly flat and easy to build on making for moderate prices of villas and condominiums. Rawai has a village feel and is fairly relaxed and laid back compared to the West Coast. Traffic is non-existent and life seems to slow down in this area.

Rawai Beach real estate is 10-30% less expensive than property on the West Coast.
