International Flights Ramp Up in Phuket Thailand
Since the easing of travel restrictions in Thailand, pent-up demand has continued to push travelers to Phuket. The Phuket hotel sector including rental properties are starting to see a recovery trend in occupancy.
It's a step in the right direction as the first half of 2022 created positive market sentiment. The island has welcomed 1.78 million travelers through the first half of 2022. This is an increase of over 300% compared to the first half of 2021.
Led by European travelers in the first quarter, while Asian travelers gained traction in the second quarter.
Since opening its borders, an influx of family-friendly travelers have started to take advantage of the great deals on hotels and rentals.
Looking forward, a seasonal transition will see international travelers to Thailand booking accommodations for the high season starting at the end of October and continuing through March 2023. c9 Hotelworks is forecasting an optimistic outlook that the Phuket tourism sector will continue to build and recover.
